Fans and race teams descend on the high-speed half-mile clay oval on Friday night July 11th. The track will open its gates to host a combination Sprint Car and Modified program with thee divisions going trackside. Headlined by the 900 horsepower Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints, the main event will be the Rick Schmidt Memorial race, a 23 lap A-main event, for the winged 410 Outlaw Sprints. Joining the sprint cars will be two classes of Modifieds.

The “full modified” class will follow IMCA rules, or rules mandated by Wilmot Raceway and Beaver Dam Raceway, to be allowed to participate in the show. IMCA stamped Hoosier tires are required. The main event will be contested at 20 laps and will showcase the area’s top modified pilots. The feature event will see up to 20 starters vying for the $600 top prize. The race will pay $100 to start.. Any driver not making the A-main will receive $50.  The nearest Friday night Modified track, the Oshkosh Speedzone is off for that evening.

Fans to witness two classes of high-speed modified action at the Horsepower Half-mile!

A second dose of Modified action will be witnessed as the Sport Modifieds will be joining the show for the first time. IMCA or Beaver Dam legal sport modifieds are welcome. Once again IMCA stamped Hoosier tires are required. The Sport Modifieds will also be highlighted by a 20 lap contest which will provide the winner with $300 for their efforts. The contest will pay $50 to start.  It’s a triple header night of action that fans won’t want to miss as the “Horsepower Half-mile” once again reverberates with the roar of racing engines.

Pit gates will open at 3:00pm with the grandstands opening at 5:00pm. Warm-ups begin at 6:00pm with qualifying for the IRA Sprint cars and racing to follow.  Grandstand admission is $20 for adults. Children, ages 6 through 12, are admitted for just $5. and children ages 5 and under are FREE.
