It was Ladies Night at the Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway Sunday with vendors set up for pre-race activities and Powder Puff races to end the evening. The Tim Paitrick Street Stocks started out the evening with Michael Held leading the field to the green flag followed by Aaron Falbe & Steve Ecker. The lone caution came on lap 3 as Ecker spun and also seeing the leader leave the track. On the restart a three way battle ensued between Falbe, Dan Miller & Chad Hummelmeier. Side by side racing between Falbe & Hummelmeier as lap 4 saw Hummelmeier use the low groove and pull out front as Russ Davison raced into 4th spot. Hummelmeier started to out distance himself from the field as the battle remained for the runner up spots. Lap 8 saw Falbe get high allowing Miller to take over 2nd spot as Davison & Ecker was putting the heat on Falbe for the 3rd spot. Hummelmeier went on to win followed by Miller, Falbe & Davison. Heat winners were Miller & Falbe.
The Daizy Sweeps Grand Nationals took the field next with John Stanton starting on the pole followed by Jay Schaalma & Todd Ascherien. Lap 3 saw the leader pull on the infield with mechanical issues putting Schaalma out front. Schaalma found his groove running the high line as Ascherien worked the bottom of the track for the top spot. Schaalma continued to dominate as Ascherien keeps putting the heat on followed by Jeff Richards. A spin on lap 7 brings out the yellow and tightens the field up. Schaalma continues to use the high line on the restart as Richards looks low. The leaders staged a side by side battle with Ascherien also coming into the mix with a tight race up front. On lap 9 Richards found enough bite on the backstretch and took the top spot but Schaalma wasn’t done. The next circuit saw Schaalma trying the inside to regain the lead only to spin in turns 3 & 4. Richards went on to win followed by Kenny Richards, Nathan Persha & Schaalma getting 4th. . Heat race winner was Stanton.
The United Auto Parts Sport Modifieds took to the track with Jack Jones taking the green followed by Tim Sheppard & Keith Schmitt. Jones kept the lead throughout multiple cautions in the first 3 laps due to spins. On the restart on lap 3 Jones was forced to give up the lead with mechanical issues putting Sheppard out front and feeling the heat from Schmitt. Sheppard & Schmitt stage door handle to door handle racing the next few laps as Colten Van Hierden moves into 3rd spot. On lap 8 Van Hierden races under Schmitt and takes over 2nd spot & sets his sights on the leader as Schmitt follows suit. Van Hierden finds the low groove to his liking and takes the lead from Sheppard on lap 11. A late caution on lap 14 sets the stage for a final battle to the checker. Schmitt tries to look under Van Hierden for the lead as Van Hierden keeps it. Van Hierden went on to win followed by Schmitt & Sheppard. Heat winners were Schmitt & Van Hierden.
The final feature of the night had the Performance Motorsports Modifieds take to the track. Joel Crowbridge & Mike Mueller led the field around to take the green as cars sorted out on the first lap. Dan Roedl powered his way out front by lap 2 with Jeremy Christians following suit. Christians started to reel in the leader & on lap 5 takes the lead coming out of turn 2. Caution falls on lap 7 as Christians keeps his spot followed by Roedl & Kelly Brown. The next few circuits saw the battle of the #33 cars for 2nd spot between Roedl & Brown.
