Beaver Dam is just one of the many stops on the 2018 nationwide Lights Fest tour. This is the festival’s second visit to Dodge County. The 2017 event was extremely successful, as hundreds of attendees declared their hopes and dreams at the Dodge County Fairgrounds. Participants are expected to travel from Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay and the Fox Valley area for this unique and moving experience. Attendees will declare their goals on Saturday, June 16. The event is scheduled to begin around 4:00 pm in the afternoon and lanterns will be released at twilight.
Have a dream, goal or someone that you would like to honor? Attendees will write memorials and declare goals on their lanterns, then light them with tiki torches before they lift off into the twinkling skyline. Every attendee will have different reasons for participating and should expect this event to give them momentum for change or find ultimate resolution.
Live music, food and family-friendly entertainment are also being offered at the festival. Live music will include various genres and forms of musical entertainment. Food carts and concessions will also be available. Children will enjoy local entertainment, including magicians, balloon artists and face painting. A sparkler dance party and dance performers are also being scheduled.
Participants may pre-register online or at the event. Both cash and major credit cards will be accepted at the event. Hurry, as space is limited and you won’t want to miss out on the best prices! Be sure to check the Lights Fest website for current rates and information. Adult admission tickets include a packet that will be picked up at the event. The packet contains a lantern and marker. Parking for events at the Dodge County Fairgrounds is always free.
Children ages 3 years and under receive free admission to the event with a paying adult. Children ages 4-12 years will receive a reduced children’s admission, but lanterns are not included. Adults (ages 13 years and older) will be charged an adult ticket price. Save your spot by going to the Wisconsin registration site https://thelightsfest.com/event/madison-2/
Attendees should consider bringing chairs, blankets and jackets to keep them warm after sunset.
