Close to one thousand pieces of John Deere machinery and equipment will be on display at the Dodge County Fairgrounds on July 27-29. The 2018 event will feature John Deere equipment made in Horicon, Wisconsin, with an emphasis on the 1968 John Deere model 140. Fifty Years of Hydro Power is a milestone event. Attendees this summer will help the company celebrate fifty years of John Deere hydro and all Horicon-built John Deere machines.
This three-day event is being scheduled at the Dodge County Fairgrounds on:
Friday, July 27 from 9:00am-5:00pm
Saturday, July 28 from 8:00am-6:00pm
Sunday, July 29 from 8:00am-1:00pm
Local collectors will be assembling from the area. But fans will also be traveling from California and Canada to share their collections and their passion for John Deere machinery and equipment. An astounding 700-1,000 machines are expected to be on display. Many prototypes and one-of-a-kind machinery will be available for viewing at the fairgrounds, including a large vintage snowmobile exhibition. Rick Trahan, a John Deere blacksmith from Grand Detour, Illinois will be on site each day, showcasing his amazing blacksmithing skills. Enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to meet the John Deere retirees and employees who designed and built these extraordinary pieces of machinery.
A silent auction will be held on Sunday afternoon. Bidders will have the chance to take home unique items while donating to a wonderful cause in the community. Benefits from the auction will support the United Way.
Young John Deere enthusiasts will have a chance to dig in the dirt with their families and see the remarkable equipment up close and personal. Tractors, an earthcavator, danuser post hole digger, brinly attachments will all be on site. All fans will be able to purchase unique John Deere items, including event apparel. Laser cut and painted items will also be available for purchase at the John Deere factory. Concessions will also be available for hungry attendees.
Factory tours will be scheduled throughout the weekend. Transportation will be available to and from the factory. The lineup of events will also feature a unique tractor parade. Admission and parking are absolutely free, making this event affordable for every John Deere enthusiast. Fans are expected to attend from the Beaver Dam area, Madison, Milwaukee and Green Bay.
