Mouth-watering barbeque. Ooey-gooey grilled cheese. Refreshing shaved ice. On April 23 these delicious fair food favorites will return for your enjoyment at the Dodge County Fairgrounds. The popular Fair Food Festival will include a variety of vendors, live music and favorite treats throughout the day – from 11am-7pm.
The event has been slated for one Saturday each month from April through October. So mark your calendars for May 7, June 4, July 16, September 17 and October 1. In August the event will be replaced by five much-anticipated days of fair food and fun at the 2022 Dodge County Fair (scheduled August 17-21).
New food carts and vendors will be featuring their popular items each month. Menus will change monthly. Return from month-to-month to sample the variety of fair food that is offered. Past offerings included: gourmet popcorn and soft pretzels, cream puffs, barbeque, mac and cheese, ice cream, loaded nachos and more. Admission and parking is free for the event. Attendees may sample the food items by making their purchases and supporting each local vendor.
The outdoor festival will be held rain or shine. Picnic tables and shelters are available at the fairgrounds. However, attendees are also welcomed to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
Bring the whole family for a unique picnic and variety of family-friendly activities. New activities will include a Bounce House (by Bovee’s Backyard Bouncers), a petting zoo (by Glacier Rock Farms) and face painting (provided by Life’s a Party Face Painting).
The Live Music Stage will feature entertainment throughout the day. Performances will be given by a variety of local artists (coordinated by Mac Daddy Entertainment). Performers may promote their new music and merchandise, as well as gather crowd support through donations. If you are a musical group or musician who would like to share your music, please coordinate your performance by contacting macentertainment71@gmail.com.
Food carts and vendors who are interested in offering their favorite menu items at any of the Fair Food Festival events should contact Ms. Barb Mullin at mullin799@gmail.com or 920-296-2209. Food vendors will enjoy high voltage direct electricity, water, restrooms, and garbage receptacles with the $100 monthly space fee.
