Open Class Clothing Judging
August 13, 2025 @ 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
The open-class clothing division consists of two main categories: children’s garments, which feature around 20 different subcategories, and adult garments, encompassing more than 25 subcategories. Garments will be evaluated based on three key criteria:
1. Design: This includes the purpose of the garment, its individuality, and its overall outline.
2. Material: This criterion considers texture, color and design (including trimmings), suitability for the intended purpose, durability, economic factors, and cleaning qualities.
3. Workmanship: This final criterion assesses the choice of materials, the durability and neatness of construction, the quality of hand and machine stitching, and the finishing process.
Judging will take place on Wednesday during the fair at 9 a.m. in the Open Class Exhibit Building. Awards will be given for first, second, third, and fourth place in each category, with a rosette awarded to the best in show. Both exhibitors and fairgoers are welcome to sit and watch the judging process.
