Open Class Dairy Cattle Judging
August 15, 2025 @ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Dodge County is fortunate to have a robust open-class dairy program featuring several breeds, including Holstein, Guernsey, Brown Swiss, Jersey, Ayrshire, and Milking Shorthorn. As is typical for dairy shows, the age classifications in this division range from spring calf to five-year-old cow, and include categories such as Get of Sire, Three Best Females, and Produce of Dam.
Both adults and children will exhibit animals in the Farm Progress Arena. They should wear white pants, a white or colored shirt, a belt, and closed-toed shoes. Each exhibitor will be provided with a back tag, which must be displayed on the back.
In addition to the standard exhibitor ticket entry fee, there is a stall charge of $2 per animal. The open-class exhibitor book provides more information, including health rules.
Judging for the open-class dairy division will take place on Friday of the fair at 1:00 p.m. Awards will be given for first, second, third, and fourth place in each category. Fairgoers are encouraged to sit and watch the judging process. The show will also be available as a live stream and recorded on our YouTube channel.
