Open Class Flowers Judging
August 13, 2025 @ 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Fairgoers can stroll under the grandstand during the fair to explore Dodge County’s open-class flower division. The exhibits showcase stunning displays, including single-variety bouquets, potted plants, artistic arrangements, and themed compositions.
The “Bouquets” will be judged based on the quality of the flowers, the arrangement, and the suitability of the containers. For “Potted Plants,” the criteria include being ornamental, clean, and free from disease and insects. “Artistic Arrangements” will be evaluated based on their aesthetic qualities; while other foliage and accessories may be used, artificial or commercially grown flowers are not permitted. Themed “Compositions” must consist entirely of dried materials, though accessories are allowed.
Judging will take place on Wednesday of the fair at 9 a.m. Awards will be given for first, second, third, and fourth place in each category, along with “Best in Class” awards for some of the classes. Exhibitors and fairgoers are encouraged to sit and observe the judging process.
