2025 Dodge County Fair
A huge tractor pull followed by three nights of national touring artist concerts entertain country and rock fans. Two demolition derbies, a Horse pull, tractor pull, and truck pull at the grandstand plus food, fun and exhibits for the whole family.

Dairy Fitting Contest
Dairy Fitting Contest
Fitters will compete in two categories; Junior Fitters, grades 4-8 and Senior Fitters, grades 9 and older. Held in the Farm Progress Arena, fitters will have one hour to fit their animal.

Junior Fair Market Hog Show
A judging event for youth participating in the swine project is held in the Junior Livestock Building. Swine are evaluated based on their functionality, structure, balance, and attractiveness. The Market Hog Show is a terminal show, meaning that all youth exhibitors must be certified annually in Meat Animal Quality Assurance (MAQA) and attend educational project meetings throughout the year.

Home furnishings are categorized into five distinct classes. The “Machine and Hand-Embroidery” class includes a variety of items, such as pillowcases and wall hangings. The “Quilts” category is very popular, featuring subcategories like piece quilting, baby quilts, and wall hangings.

Open Class Farm Crops, Vegetables, and Fruits Judging
Farming has deep roots in Dodge County, and the love for the land is reflected in the exhibits featured in the open-class divisions for farm crops, vegetables, and fruits. Classes include husked corn, corn stalks, threshed corn, grain sheaves, soybean sheaves, hay sheaves, baled slices, and ensiled forages, as well as standard and unusual vegetables, potatoes, and various fruits.

Open Class Honey Judging
Beekeeping is a popular hobby in the Dodge and Jefferson County area due to the fellowship and education it offers. The honey open-class division provides beekeepers with the opportunity to showcase their products in a competitive setting. There are ten different categories, ranging from honeycomb to extracted honey and beeswax, among others.

Dust off your brushes, sharpen your cutting blades and replenish your paint supplies because the open-class cultural arts division is calling all exhibitors with artistic talent. The “Art” category is for amateurs only and features a variety of mediums, including oil paintings and colored pencil works.

Participation in the open-class beef cattle division is encouraged for both adults and children. The breeds included are Shorthorn, Angus, Hereford, and a category for other beef breeds combined. Knitting and crocheting remain popular hobbies that offer both utility and relaxation. Entries in this category are judged based on their suitability for purpose, design, evenness and perfection of stitches, neatness of blocking, and quality of seams and joinings. The "hand knitting" class includes approximately 20 different categories, ranging from adult sweaters to home accessories.

Junior Fair Dairy Showmanship
This event showcases the talents of youth participating in the dairy project and takes place in the Farm Progress Arena. Participants compete in registered and grade classes, alternating by age, starting with spring calves and following a fixed breed rotation. Youth demonstrate their knowledge of dairy education and compete for various showmanship awards, including top production, somatic cell count, and protein production.

Youth entering grades 3 and 4 this school year will have the opportunity to show calves in the Junior Showmanship Contest. Judging will focus on the proper showmanship techniques demonstrated by each participant and the training of the calf. This event is organized by the Dodge County Dairy Youth Advisory Committee and aims to promote interest in the Dairy Project.

Dodge County is fortunate to have a robust open-class dairy program featuring several breeds, including Holstein, Guernsey, Brown Swiss, Jersey, Ayrshire, and Milking Shorthorn. As is typical for dairy shows, the age classifications in this division range from spring calf to five-year-old cow, and include categories such as Get of Sire, Three Best Females, and Produce of Dam.
