We hope that you enjoyed yourself – dancing and singing along to live music at the Dodge County Fair last month. Maybe you didn’t get your fill of seasonal fair food favorites? Are you looking forward to singing along to more live music over the long, upcoming holiday weekend? We have more fun in store at the fairgrounds on September 4. This month’s fair food festival will also feature live music on the Open Jam Stage LIVE. Local artists will perform throughout the day for those enjoying the mouth-watering fair food.

Rock out along to your favorite 90’s grunge throwbacks this weekend. Local garage band, Batteries Not Included is scheduled to perform from 11:00-12:00 this Saturday. Their modern rock sound ranges from punk to grunge to rock. You will enjoy your grunge favorites, as well as their original music.

One hour timeslots will be available all day on Saturday, with thirty minute intermission between performances. Festival organizers are seeking a variety of genres and performers to share their music on both September 4 and October 2. Open Jam spots are available at 11:00, 12:30, 2:00, 3:30, 5:00 and 6:30. Five spots are still available for this Saturday. Performers for this Saturday may secure a timeslot by contacting organizers by September 3 at [email protected].

Sound service (including microphones and instrument inputs) will be provided by Mac Daddy Entertainment for up to six musicians per session. Performers may promote their new music and merchandise, as well as gather crowd support through donations.

The September Fair Food Festival will feature a variety of popular local vendors and food carts from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. Vendors will each feature their own unique menu of delicious fair food.

Lilly Bell will be debuting at this month’s festival with its fine-dining menu. The sprawling menu will feature a fresh, Greek salad, gator bites, cajun deep-fried catfish sandwich, mixed greens with smoked turkey, buttered buffalo mac & cheese, coconut rice and peas, and banana split pudding delight and Tennessee Honey cake for dessert

Five additional vendors will be returning with their robust menus that have been popular all summer long:

Patriot Popcorn – select gourmet popcorns (maple bacon pecan, Blend 1776, cheddar, caramel, parmesan and garlic, jalapeno cheddar), vintage sodas, root beers and sweet teas

Mr. P’s Grilled Cheese: mouth-watering grilled cheese sandwiches

Jakarta BBQ – variety Indonesian foods, including: veggie spring rolls, veggie curry (vegan & gluten free), pork dumplings, chicken curry and rice

Cream Puffs – French dessert filled with sweet cream and dusted with powdered sugar. A popular choice at the Dodge County Fair.

The event will be held rain or shine and admission and parking are free. Picnic tables are available for eating and listening. However attendees are also welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.

The final festival is scheduled for October 2. Each festival is unique and the activities, vendors and menus vary each month. Vendors for the final event should secure their reservation by contacting Barb Mullin at [email protected] or 920-885-3586. The reservation fee is $75. Vendor space includes water, electricity, restrooms and garbage receptacles.
