Top junior and senior showmen of the dairy, beef, sheep and swine projects will compete against each other in showing their own animal, and then showing animals in two other species. Don’t miss the chance to witness this newer contest showcasing the top livestock youth.
The junior market lambs exhibit purpose is to encourage young people to produce and exhibit high-quality lambs as part of their farming program.
Sheep are evaluated in the Junior Livestock Building arena for; functionality, structure, balance, and attractiveness. All purebred breeding stock must be registered.
Open-class sheep showing is available at the Dodge County Fair for numerous breeds: Shropshire, Corriedale and Colombias, Dorset, Horned Dorset, Hampshire, Suffolk, and a class for any other breeds.
Animal care takes center stage during the Sheep Fitting Contest in the Farm Progress Arena on Tuesday night before the Fair. Sheep project youth demonstrate project growth by practicing their fitting skills and competing for prizes.
