The excitement is building for the inaugural race for the Dodge County Speedway Association set to take place this Sunday, September 7th. The action will happen at the Dodge County Fairgrounds located in Beaver Dam with Vic’s Auto Sales & Service night at the races.
In addition to four divisions of racing which will include IMCA type Modified & Sport Mods, Grand Nationals and Street Stock, there will be some added on track excitement.
The evening will begin with the American flag from the Nations of Patriots Tour flying proudly during the national anthem. This same flag recently toured 48 states and made its way back to Wisconsin with the last stop at Hogs N Honeez in Beaver Dam.
The 20 lap IMCA modified feature will be paying tribute to former racer as well as past President of the Racing Association Dennis Haldemann, who passed away three years ago. He was a huge supporter of racing at the fairgrounds and devoted countless hours to make the track successful. Denny’s sister Bev Anderson / Anderson Real Estate has donated towards the modified feature in his memory. Long time friend and fellow racer Eugene Beske Jr. will carry the black flag during the pace lap in the black # 08 car of Marcus Cox, in memory of Haldemann’s #8 modified.
The evening will close with a spectacular daredevil stunt performed on the infield. The “mystery” driver will be attempting to jump over a trailer and/or camper with a car! You don’t want to miss this heart stopping feat! The event is sponsored by Autoworx Unlimited and Wally’s Auto Hwy 33 Beaver Dam.
Other sponsors for the evening’s events are Twisted Iron, The Other Bar, Daizy Sweeps, CJ’s Lawn Care, United Auto Parts , Krahn Performance Racing, Alter Metals, Paitrick Transmissions & Auto Repair, and Brian’s Body Works.
The first green flag drops at 5:00 PM with pits opening at 2:00 and the grandstands at 3:00. Admission is $10.00 for adults, ages 10-15 $5.00 and under 10 free. Hope to see you all there!
I am honored to sponsor the modified feature in memory of my brother Dennis Haldemann! Dennis had a passion for racing from the driver aspect and as a spectator after he retired. He was a very giving man, always ready to lend a hand to someone in need, on or off the track. I am humbled by the positive support in remembering Dennis at this event – it is a testament of his many friends. He won’t be visible at this event – but trust me, he will be there in spirit! In loving memory of Dennis Haldemann!
