The excitement is building as the season opener nears this Sunday May 24th at the Dodge County Fairgrounds Speedway. Five divisions of racing are set to take to the horsepower half mile. This will be the first full season of racing at the track in 11 years after a sell out show last fall. Taking to the track will be IMCA Modified. IMCA Northern Sport Mods, Grand Nationals, Street Stock and the newly formed DCSA Late Model class.

DCSA revives local racing at the Horsepower Half Mile with twelve scheduled race nights

The May 24th show will blend the old with the new as it will also be Alumni Night, welcoming back former drivers from the past with free admission and a brief ceremony at intermission. The “Hall of Fame” will be introduced with the first three inductees being honored. It will be Anderson Realty trophy night as well as the 2nd Annual Dennis Haldemann memorial night. Additional purse will be presented to the 8th place finisher and the leader at lap 8, in honor of Haldemann’s #8 race car.

The Dodge County Speedway Association has been busy planning an exciting race season for the entire family. The free Kids Club will be jam packed with fun events all summer, including pre-race pit tours, giveaways and the return of the Junior Hot Rods to name a few. They DCSA will also be teaming up with Relay for Life and hosting a Race for a Cure night at the races on May 31. The return of Powder Puff and Mechanic Races, Pit Crew Push, Autograph Night, Ladies Night and the Nations of Patriots Tour are just a sampling of what’s in store at the fairgrounds this year.
