The Dodge County Administration Building, Juneau was filled with delicious aromas on Wednesday, July 11 at the 2018 4-H Favorite Foods Revue. Several Dodge County 4-H members brought their favorite food dishes for Judge Sue Putra to evaluate.
Blue ribbons were awarded to the following members: Healthy Snacks (Cloverbud & Exploring)– Jacob Adsit, Leipsic; International Lunch (grade 4-8) – Madalynn Walz, Astico Perseverance; Picnic Outing (grade 4-8) – Emma Adsit, Leipsic and Macy Reetz, Astico Perseverance and Madalynn Walz, Astico Perseverance; Sunday Family Dinner (grade 4-8) – Nina Litherland, Astico Perseverance and Max Reetz, Astico Perseverance; Fast, Fabulous & Fun (grade 4-8) – Macy Reetz, Astico Perseverance and Allison Zerjav, Lebanon Luckies; Healthy Breakfast (grade 9 & older) – Faith Rinzel, Lomira Clover Leaves; Holiday Gathering (grade 9 & older) – Clara Reetz, Astico Perseverance; International Dinner (grades 9 & older) – Faith Rinzel, Lomira Clover Leaves; Tailgate Party (grade 9 & older) – Clara Reetz, Astico Perseverance.
Max Reetz (photo above, right) was the Special Merit award recipient in the grades 4-8 category with his Sunday Dinner of salmon, potatoes and green beans. In the grade 9 & older category, Faith Rinzel (photo above, left) was the special merit recipient with her International Lunch. The lunch consisted of Cheesy Chicken Enchiladas and Non-Alcoholic Sangria.
Faith Rinzel and Clara Reetz will showcase highlights from the Favorite Foods Revue on Monday, August 13 at the Dodge County Junior Fair Foods & Nutrition judging event in the Youth Building at the Dodge County Fairgrounds.
