You can burn off that delicious fair food that you’re going to enjoy later in the day at the July 16th Fair Food Festival! The Dodge County Fairgrounds will be hosting the inaugural Dodge County 4-H Fun Run/Walk on Saturday morning. The race begins at 9:15 am.
This “GO GREEN” event is perfect for both seasoned athletes and recreational runners and walkers. Families and large groups are welcome. Participants who best represent the GO GREEN 4-H spirit will be awarded prizes. Five prizes will be awarded.
The run/walk will be held rain or shine, with registration beginning at 8 am in the Commercial Building. This all-terrain course will make for a unique race experience in rural Dodge County. Beaver Dam is just a short drive from Madison, Milwaukee and Green Bay.
The registration fee is only $10 for enrolled 4-H members and $15 non 4-H youth and $20 for adults. Registered participants will receive a race t-shirt, water, sports drink and snacks. Free childcare is also available for potty-trained children up to ten years old.
Requests for reasonable accommodations should be made prior to the event. Questions should be directed to Heather Rynearson, by contacting 920-386-3790 or [email protected].
After you have gotten your daily activity in and showered up, why not return to the fairgrounds for some more movement, live music and fun. Walk the sprawling fairgrounds from 11am-7pm at the monthly Fair Food Festival.
This month’s festival will feature menus from a variety of food carts and vendors:
- Charlie’s: fresh cut and ribbon fries, corn dogs, chicken tenders, hamburgers, soda and water
- Mr. P’s Grilled Cheese: eight mouth-water flavors of grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato bisque soup, water
- Lily Bell’s Fine Dining: menu TBD
- Race Rock: walking tacos, mac n cheese, and burritos
If the kids didn’t get their energy out with you at the morning race, the popular kid activities will be returning this month, too. The youngest attendees will enjoy a bounce house and whimsical face painting.
And if you want to relax, grab your blanket and your lawn chairs and enjoy your delicious fair food while listening to some local live music. The line up for July will not disappoint. With a variety of unique sounds there is something that will interest every taste.
