[canceled] 2020 Dodge County Fair
August 19, 2020 - August 23, 2020
It is with deep concern for the health and safety of our Dodge County Fair Community that the Dodge County Fair Board announces the cancellation of the 2020 Dodge County Fair, which was to be held August 19 – 23, 2020. We have been communicating with county officials, health officials, staff from Extension Dodge County- UW-Madison, fair volunteers, vendors, the Wisconsin Association of Fairs, and others in the fair industry as we have discussed options given the COVID-19 health crisis. The health and safety of all people associated with every aspect of our fair is our top priority. Please know that this cancellation has been the most difficult decision our fair board has ever faced. We thank you for understanding.
“Our hearts are heavy knowing we cannot gather for our annual event as we have during the past 132 years,” says Doug Ninmann, President of the Dodge County Fair, “but now and always, the health and safety of all involved is paramount.”
While we are saddened to make this decision, we look forward to brighter days ahead and are excited to begin planning for the 2021 Dodge County Fair. The Fair is scheduled to return in its entirety August 18 – 22, 2021, where we will gather again to celebrate all that is special and unique to Dodge County. Until then, stay safe, be well, and support each other. 2020 Dodge County Fair Cancelled due to COVID Health Concerns
Hope this fair actually happens. Seems like most everything else has cancelled. I finally got a mobility scooter, and this year would have been my first fair in 5 years.
I hope the demolition derby is still going to happen this year
Yes, us too! Thanks for the comment, we are monitoring the state mandates and talking with local and state officials. Our plan is to wait until July to make a decision, cases of COVID-19 are declining and wearing a face covering is working in other areas of the country. Stay healthy, stay strong!
