Open Class Cultural Arts Judging
August 16, 2017 @ 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Dust off your brushes, sharpen your cutting blades, and replenish your paint selection, because the open-class cultural-arts division is calling all exhibitors with an artistic flair. “Art” is for amateurs, only, and features categories in about a dozen different mediums from oil paintings to colored pencil. “Cultural arts,” also for amateurs, only, has a wide variety of categories to choose from. Whether it’s jewelry, ceramics, glass etching, homemade soaps, or Americana, this class is sure to have a spot for your latest work of art. Judging will be held Wednesday of the fair in the Open Class Exhibit Building at 9:30 a.m. Be sure to thoroughly read the directions for this division in the open-class exhibitor book, as there are a variety of rules to follow, depending on the type of art. In addition to a first-, second-, third-, and fourth-place award in each category, a best-of-show rosette will be presented in both classes. Exhibitors and fair goers are invited to sit and watch the judging process.
