Open Class Sheep Judging
August 16, 2017 @ 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Open-class sheep showing is available at the Dodge County Fair for numerous breeds: Shropshire, Corriedale and Colombias, Dorset, Horned Dorset, Hampshire, Suffolk, and a class for any other breeds. Spring, fall, and yearling classes are available for rams and ewes, as well as mature ewe, get of sire, exhibitors flock, market lamb, and pen of market lambs. In addition to the standard exhibitor-ticket entry fee, a pen charge is applied: $1 per animal. Read the open-class exhibitor book for more details, including health rules. Animals are exhibited by adults or children wearing appropriate show-ring attire and close-toed shoes. Judging in the open-class sheep division will be held Wednesday of the fair at 3:30 p.m. First, second, third, and fourth place is awarded in each category. Champions are awarded in each class. Fair goers are encouraged to sit and watch the judging process.
