On December 18, the Dodge County Board approved the final transfer of the Dodge County Fairgrounds Youth Building to the Dodge County Fair Association. A 99-year lease was initiated in 1964 when Dodge County first built the structure. All managerial and maintenance aspects of the Youth Building will now be managed by the Fair Association.
The Youth Building will continue to be used by the Dodge County 4-H group throughout the year. The group will also have exclusive use of the building during the 2019 Dodge County Fair, scheduled for August 14-18.
This transfer leaves Dodge County Fair Association with ownership of all buildings on the fairgrounds. The seven barns located on the fairgrounds are used for housing various small animals and livestock. The Fairgrounds is also home to three exhibit buildings, including the newest structure, the 72,000 sq ft Commercial Building, the Legion Pavillion, and the Rotary Building.
Many of the unique spaces on the seventy-five acre facility are available for rental throughout the calendar year. 2019 space reservations will help support the non-profit Dodge County Fair Association.
