The Dodge County Fair Association recently broke ground on a space that will be housing some significant improvements to the fairground facilities. A new restroom building near the Small Animal and Commercial Building, will be situated conveniently between Stock and Wisconsin Streets on the fairgrounds. The facility will include four free showers and dressing rooms, one family and handicap-accessible restroom and shower, with eight women’s and seven men’s flushable toilets.

The 30ft x 50ft building has been included on the capital improvement plan for the last several years and will primarily be used for livestock exhibitors, transitioning directly from exhibition to animal care. However, these brand-new facilities will also be used for seasonal campers at the on-site RV park from April through October

The Dodge County Fairgrounds welcomes an average 50,000 individuals through its gates annually each August for the Dodge County Fair, with 30-50,000 additional visitors throughout the year at various events that rent the grounds.

Dodge County Fair Association Board member, Wade Fletcher, reflects that “This is just one more step in our desire to make the Dodge County Fairgrounds the finest facility of its kind in the state of Wisconsin”. These improvements will make the property more usable, accessible and convenient for everyone attending events. Smaller events can now be moved closer to the restroom facilities, making the fairgrounds even more attractive for hosting events like weddings, graduation parties and company picnics.

Your tax-deductible contribution will help us improve the fairgrounds for everyone. Donate online or mail a check payable to Dodge County Fair Association, P.O. Box 654, Beaver Dam, WI 53916.  Donations will go directly to the restroom project for use by the many community events held at the Fairgrounds including the annual Dodge County Fair in August. A ribbon cutting for the new restroom recognizing supporters and donors will be held once the project is complete, which is anticipated before this year’s fair (dependent on project schedule and weather).

Donations are also welcomed through the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation, please designate the Dodge County Fair Association Fund to support completion of the additional restroom facilities.
